I Will Stand for God!
I will stand for God!
I am many things, and among them, I also know what I am not.
I write, but I’m no Shakespeare. I am smart, but I’m no Einstein. I paint, but
I’m no Rembrandt, which takes me to my next point. I am attuned to God speaking
to my soul…to my heart, but I don’t claim to be an Elijah.
A few months ago, something pressing and tremendous woke me
up, but I knew that I was not to open my eyes because what I saw was being
shown to me without my eyes. I felt the weight and importance of it before I
recognized any meanings.
I was standing in the middle of a road and before me was a
huge cloud of dark, orange-colored dust barreling toward me. I recognized that
I should be afraid. I understood
that, as a human, I should want to
run. But I also understood that I had a decision to make at that very moment.
“Will you stand for God in the coming of the chaos and evil that
is imminent, or will you run and try to spare yourself tribulations and
troubles?” It was an unvoiced question from God to forge my mettle.
In an instant, I knew that when the time comes, I will stand
unmovable for what is right…what God wants…even if it means my death. My
decision has been made.
But why did I have this…vision? I cannot tell for certain.
Was it for myself? Was it a warning? Was it meant to be for others…or for the
world? I cannot answer those questions for sure, but I do feel the obligation
to share my vision. If it does nothing more than to share my faith, then I am
uplifted by sharing. If my vision informs others and edifies or confirms
something in their lives, then I am happy to be used by God for that, as well, no
matter the consequences.
The Bible is the living word of God. What was written on those pages was not meant only for a specific time and a specific people; those words are for all people for all time. The Bible is filled with instances of God communicating with His people through dreams and visions. My favorite verse concerning dreams and visions is Joel 2:28: "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions." God communicates with us today, as well. Are you listening?
I told you that I am not an artist, but I did try (with my limited skills) to paint the impression I received that morning before I willfully opened my eyes, so I will share that simple watercolor painting here. Please be kind as you view it.If it means nothing more for you, perhaps, it can help you
ascertain what you will do if you find yourself standing alone in the middle of
a road facing chaos and evil. I know now what I will do. I will stand for God!
