Welcome to my new blog! I am an author who writes Southern inspirational fiction. My author blog is Simply Southern Stories, and it focuses on writing and Southern life. This blog, however, focuses on the inspirational—the precepts in God’s words, the whispers in my heart that make me write, my ILLUMINATIONS.

This blog has been brewing in my soul for quite some time now, especially in the light of the changes that are happening in our world and the increasing marginalization and persecution of Christians in our mainstream culture. I have no interest in succumbing to those pressures. In fact, they have propelled me onto a higher level of faith and resolve, and now I wish to share my illuminations with all who would listen. What the world purposed to silence and shame, instead, has fueled me to double-down—to stand immovable in the face of oppression and evil.

I came to Christ in the innocence of childhood, and the first verse I was given in Bible School was 2 Timothy 2:15 (in the King James Version, no less), and it stated, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I repeated the words on stage during the ending ceremony for that summer’s Bible School, not having a clue as to what those words meant. I do now. Little did I know that God would use those words as a mantra in my life.  You will see in this blog how those words will reveal my purpose in life.

I hope that what I write on the pages of this site will also uplift you and encourage you to stand with me, undaunted, in the face of all who would silence the truths found in God’s holy words.
